Does a DAO need a token?

When it comes to the concept of a Decentralized Autonomous Organization, or DAO, one question that often arises is whether or not it requires a token. On one hand, a token can serve as a means of incentivizing participation and governance within the DAO, as well as providing a way for members to have a shared stake in the organization's success.
