How do you wind an old Timex watch?

Excuse me, I'm having a bit of trouble with my vintage Timex watch. Could you please explain to me, in detail, how exactly one goes about winding an old Timex watch? I've tried twisting the crown in different directions, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Perhaps I'm missing a step or two in the process? Any guidance you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
