I have a spreadsheet in Excel with multiple columns and rows of data. I need to find the maximum value within a specific range of cells. How can I quickly and easily identify the largest number in that range? How to pick the max value in Excel?

Within the Editing group, click on the arrow next to the AutoSum icon. This reveals a dropdown menu with various mathematical functions, including those for calculating sums, averages, and now, minimum and maximum values.
