I'm wondering if the personal reference code is the same thing as UCI. Are they interchangeable or completely different? I need to clarify this for an important application.

The Personal Reference Code stands apart from various other codes and numbers that applicants may come across during their application process.

One such code is the Unique Client Identifier (UCI), which is specifically assigned to individuals who have already submitted an application with IRCC in the past.

Another distinct number is the Application Number, which serves as a tracking tool for each Canadian visa or permit application that is submitted.

Both the UCI and the Application Number have their own unique purposes and are used by IRCC for different stages of the application process.

In contrast, the Personal Reference Code is a unique code that is given to applicants for personal reference and is not used by IRCC for tracking or administrative purposes.
