I'm curious, are 5 cent coins still considered viable for use in transactions today? With the rise of digital payments and the potential for inflation to erode their value, does it still make sense to keep them in circulation? Or have they become more of a novelty item than a practical form of currency? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter.

On the other hand, the 1-cent coin has indeed been withdrawn from circulation since 2002. Unlike the 5-cent coin, it is no longer being issued or accepted as a means of payment.

The circulation status of coins can often be misconstrued by the public. For instance, there is a misconception surrounding the 5-cent coin.

Despite some belief that the 5-cent coin is no longer in circulation, this is not the case. Technically, one can still use the 5-cent coin as a means of payment.

However, there is a limit to the quantity of 5-cent coins that can be used in a single transaction. Specifically, using 40 or more 5-cent coins at once is generally discouraged.

This limitation is not due to the coin's circulation status but rather practicality and convenience. Merchants may refuse transactions involving an excessive number of small coins.
