I have some reward points from a company, but I recently found out that they have an expiration date. I'm wondering if it's legal for these points to expire or if the company is just trying to take advantage of me.

Credit card rewards typically do not have an expiration date for most major issuers.

This means that once you earn rewards points or cash back, you can use them whenever you wish.

The only exception to this rule is Citi, which may have different policies regarding rewards expiration.

For most credit card users, as long as their account remains open and in good standing, their rewards will remain valid.
