What is loa and LBP?

LOA refers to the overall length of a ship, measured from the foremost part of the stem to the aftermost part of the stern. LBP, on the other hand, is the length between perpendiculars, measured along the summer load waterline from the forward edge of the stem to the after edge of the rudder post or the centerline of the rudder stock.
